Printing Labels to your DYMO Label Printer

Once you have installed your DYMO Label Printer as outlined here, DYMO® Label Writer Installation and Setup, you are ready to print many different types of labels:

  • Rx Labels - These are for inventory items marked as "Is Dispensable"
  • Cage Card - Can be used to print cage labels for your appointments.
  • Patient - Can be printed from the patient's profile or medical record.
  • Client - Can be printed from the client's profile
  • Inventory Item Labels - Designed to be printed and placed on your inventory items
  • Inventory/Procedure/Lab Treatment Labels - Give basic information about the client, patient, and associated treatment. Commonly used for lab specimen labels.

Please note that all labels are automatically generated. If you need to change their appearance there is a small degree of customization available. You will need to contact our Support team via in system chat or at support@evetpractice.com to discuss any changes needed to label appearance.

Rx LABELS

In order for an inventory item to have an Rx label, the inventory item must be marked as "Is Dispensable." To check go to Inventory, click on the edit pencil next to the item in question. Then check to make sure the box below is checked off.

You can print the Rx label from either the Quick Invoicing or Treatments section by clicking on the item and scrolling down and clicking on "Send Rx Label to DYMO." This will either automatically print to the DYMO label printer or ask you to choose which printer if multiple printers are setup.

CAGE CARDS

These are designed to be printed for incoming appointments (boarding or otherwise). The easiest way to print these is to click on the appointment and hit "View."

 

That will bring you to the following screen where you can click "Print Cage Card (DYMO)." This will either automatically print to the DYMO label printer or ask you to choose which printer if multiple printers are setup.

PATIENT LABELS

These will give you generic information about the patient. Just go to the patient's profile or medical record and click on "Print Patient Label (DYMO)" in the blue Patient Quicklinks section. This will either automatically print to the DYMO label printer or ask you to choose which printer if multiple printers are setup.

CLIENT LABELS

These will give you generic information about the client. Just go to the client's profile click on the DYMO icon at the top left of the screen. This will either automatically print to the DYMO label printer or ask you to choose which printer if multiple printers are setup.

INVENTORY ITEM LABELS

These can be placed on your physical inventory items for organization and ease of information purposes. To print a label for a particular item navigate to Inventory and then click on the edit pencil next to that item:

That will bring up the following screen where you can click "Print Inventory Label (DYMO)." This will either automatically print to the DYMO label printer or ask you to choose which printer if multiple printers are setup.

INVENTORY/PROCEDURE/LAB TREATMENT LABELS

These are labels associated to certain treatments that allow you to associate physical items in your practice (such as lab specimens) to the appropriate patient and treatment. You can print the treatment label from either the Quick Invoicing or Treatments section by clicking on the item and scrolling down and clicking on "Send Treatment Label to DYMO." This will either automatically print to the DYMO label printer or ask you to choose which printer if multiple printers are setup.
